Pattaya city is a 2 hour bus ride from Bangkok. We took a bus from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok and it cost around 130 baht which is quite cheap. Almost as cheap as the hotel we found. We booked a guest friendly hotel, and I have an excellent source for that. Check out the site http://guestfriendly-hotelsbangkok.com for the full list.
We stayed for one week in the central area which is close to all nightlife locations. You can walk to anywhere in about 15-20 minutes. We went in June which is considred the low season but it was really hot and humid. Average temperatures was in the mid 30's Celsius. The major nightlife area is called walking street and it is filled with many bars and restaurants and tourists from every country. Some really good info on the Pattaya nightlife areas is here http://thailandamigo.com The beach promenade is lovely to go for a walk to catch the sunset while having a beer.

Here is a video online about Jungceylon Shopping center in Phuket Thailand. We went there in 2016, it is a nice mall with movie theatres.
I recommend people to check it out if they are in Phuket. It is absolutely freezing inside as the air conditioning is on blast. We heard that there were fireflies out from some other people we saw during dinner. They knew of a man that could take us to a location. It was located in an area along the Bangkok River. This picture was us on the way. The sun was about to set. It was very beautiful. At this point we were waiting to see the fireflies. In front of us were two Thai school kids who appeared to be on a romantic date.
They were also mesmerized by the whole scene. |
